Since 1995 diving has been one of my greatest passions. Even as a child I was allready fascinated by the fantastic underwater documentaries of Jaques-Yves Cousteau. It inspired me to become a scuba diver myself. In 1994 I made my First dive near the coast of Frejus at the Cote d’Azur and back in the Netherlands I enrolled my First course.

Over the years I expanded my skills by enrolling courses till I was certified as a Master scuba diver (highest rank in recreational diving) in 2006. After this I continued as a PADI Pro untill I was certified as a PADI Divemaster and IANTD Advanced EANx diver.

In 1997 I was certified as a SSI Underwaterphotographer and for ten years I was more or less occupied with analogue underwater photography. In 2007 I switched to digital underwater photography. Since 2008 I combine my experience as an author with my own underwaterphotography for international publications, both digital and printed.
