Icediving is done in an overhead environment and there’s only one single exit point,
an ice hole. It’s considered an advanced type of diving requiring a lot of experience
and special training. In February 2012 the winter was tough enough (for the third
year in a row) to practice icediving. Together with some other members of my diveclub
in Bergen op Zoom we planned an icedive in the ‘Galdere Meren’ a fresh water lake
near Breda. The ice was 12cm thick and a lot of skaters joined the winter fun. We
chopped an ice hole in the ice and placed a ladder for easy entrance and exit. We
fixed a rheel line to the ladder wich was fixed on shore. Allthough the temperature
above water was a cold -
